Yesterday was ‘only’ 30C, and with a little cloud cover it was a great day for a wedding. Wayne and Amber from Leicester chose Elixir to celebrate their special day – and special it was – with over 50 guests, some of whom joined in, providing readings for a very romantic ceremony. Amber’s Cousin Asha read a beautiful piece which I had never heard before and is an excerpt from the book The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman. I found it so moving and touching that I had to share it with you……. It goes into my folder of ‘lovely’ readings and poems.
All that said, Wayne, Amber and families enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, albeit warm. Congratulations to them, with love and warmest blessings for a long and happy life together.
And THAT reading from The Amber Spyglass:
“I will love you forever; whatever happens. Till I die and after I die, and when I find my way out of the land of the dead, I’ll drift about forever, all my atoms, till I find you again…”
“I’ll be looking for you, Will, every moment, every single moment. And when we do find each other again, we’ll cling together so tight that nothing and no one’ll ever tear us apart. Every atom of me and every atom of you…We’ll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pin trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams…And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we’ll be joined so tight…”
